How do I get this hose off?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi All,

I have a 2011 Buick Regal and I am trying to remove the Valve Cover. There is a steel braided hose on the back side of the valve cover that I can not figure how to take off. Anyone know how this is removed and what the hose is called? Thank you.

Does the other end come off ? Can you leave it on and get the cover off , set it to the side ?

Is it the feeder for the PCV valve? If so, and the PCV is still good, follow "beatupchevy's" advice. If nothing else works, cut it off and replace it after you have finished doing whatever you are doing with the valve cover,
