my 2006 Toyota sienna sliding door on passenger side is not responding when I push the button to open. This is not all the time, but when it does mess up it acts as if its in some type of bind. I have cleaned the censor with some spray. But it still is happening Any suggestions?

If door binds then it could be roller. If nonresponsive could be battery in remote or swich faulty on van.
We have the same problem and after googling I see that it is a VERY common problem. There is even a Facebook page about it. There might an extended warranty by Toyota to get it fixed because of so many complaints. Good luck.
thx for your replies. what switch/process needs to be done (besides turning switch off under dash-done) to make it open manually? do I need to put the part back (relay? -connected to the end of the cable that fits within the door) and cut off the cable there? (and of course scotch-lock or electric tape to keep from shorting) FYI: It is both doors now - both cables broke. they opened manually for awhile. I don't want to get caught with them stuck open. I have new remote battery. using switch by sunroof doesn't always disengage side to open, but does rear door. rear door also opens (sometimes) with remote, but always disengages to open manually. I called Toyota when the passenger cable broke. They gave me an authorization number for warranty repair for both doors, and location, but when I went into the dealership, they would not honor it. I called Toyota CS back, and they said the first agent made a mistake - AND had "no record of it". REALLY???
