I had that issue on my e430 ,.just find air line that blows from the box located under the back seat on passenger side and take an ink pen preferably a bic pen because it has a point on the tube outside which u pull the ink pen out the middle cause you need that empty tube end point to go into the pressure line leading to the reIease of the trunk latch.. when you set that up you can blow in the PIN tube or use bike pump , compressor, any quick air gust and it will release... And if you try to go through backseat , one thing you should know ..... you gotta be one or have one who. Has to be a dam good torch cutter to get through ...on 1998 e class
