2009 Ford F350 drivers side door will not lock..

Asked by 108malaproject Jan 10, 2019 at 11:03 AM about the 2009 Ford F-350 Super Duty Harley-Davidson Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The drivers side door will not lock manually it just pops back into the unlock
position.  I can get it to lock for a second with the key but when I move the key
back to take it out the door unlocks again before I can take the key out.  I have
checked all the other doors and they are fine, they make a kind of click sound
that let's me know they are locking and unlocking, but the drivers side door is
not doing this.  Any reason for this?

Thanks, Adam.

My 08 Expedition does the same thing when left outside in the sub 32 degree weather. It seems the lock mechanism gets a condensation buildup and freezes. I have a can of spray silicone that I keep in the center console just for this situation- doesn't always help. I do not have this problem when kept in the heated garage. Seems be be a well known ford truck bug.
