You have to push the AC button to turn on the AC it is not enough to put the hot to cold, it is marked with a snow flake. If you dont feel the line from the AC compressor there could be as easy fix as a blown fuse or a compressor rebuild. If I remember correctly the 2000 model still has vacuum controlled doors so also look for or listen for a vacuum leak.
Ok thank you I will check these ideas out. Thank you for quick responses. I will let you know what fixed it.
Personally, the first thing I would do, is make sure the mix door acculator is working properly. The gears wear out before there time, doesn't matter which Mfg. built the car, some last ,some don't. If you hear a clicking or continuous thumping noise its junk, 50.00 replacement, and usually 8hrs. labor, and recommend removing the complete dash assemble. I recently replaced one in a Ford Explorer, less than two hrs. PT Cursier water pump and timing belt in 4hrs. Its not cutting corners, its learning, knowing the vehicle your working with, and turning that job from hell, into a quick, easy, simple, money maker.
i have a 2003 cherry red dodge durango comp. on off works all blowers blow hot but comp.engaged hot line @ a very cold line any suggestions? 4 zone unit??
