How much would it cost to rebuild the motor on a 2001 Dodge Durrango SLT 4x4?

I'm buying this car used they say either
rebuild or buy a new motor for it the car is a
1000. So is it worth it?

No- it is not worth it- for many reasons- you are just buying another person's problems- and giving them a thousand dollars! How happy I would be if someone bought my pile of junk for $1000- add some money to that and buy something nice- it won't take much- there are some people out there who desperately need $1500

No. A used engine is a gamble to start with. If you can get one and swap it out your looking at a MINIMUM of $2500.00. And what if the tranny go's out in a year or so? Additional they are gas hogs. I suggest you pass on this one.
