2007 Subaru Impreza - No backup lights or brake lights

Asked by NoShutdown Sep 22, 2018 at 01:02 PM about the 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Impreza is running great but all of a sudden both the brake lights and
backup lights don't work. They stopped working at the same time. I have tested
and replaced all fuses but they still don't work. The tail lights and turn signal
lights work. I am checking the brake switch next but I don't understand why that
would effect the backup lights. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Turns out both the brake light switch and the backup light switch needed to be replaced. Either they both went out at the same time or the backup lights went out first, followed later by the brake lights.
