Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am considering buying a 2008 Acura MDX, one owner, with 221,000 miles. The car appears to be well taken care of. Kelly Blu Book has the car's valur right where the lot has priced it. Is this a bad investment?

How long do you need it to last? This is hardly an investment. More like spending money you may lose tomorrow.

You want to buy a one owner car with less than 100K miles if you want to get another 5 years out of it if you drive the average mileage per year.

Only problem with getting a car with less than 100k miles is knowing if the timing belt has been changed and that is pricey. The timing belt needs to be changed somewhere between 60,000 and 90,000 miles. I got a car with 110,000 miles over new that had 74,000 because the 74,000 mile car didn't have the timing belt changed yet.
