2000 subaru impreza outback sport sti swap

Asked by Rhysowen Apr 12, 2016 at 05:45 PM about the 2000 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2000 subaru impreza outback sport and
im wondering what is everything I need to do this?
Ive worked on cars for all my life and plan to do
this myself . I just need to know everthing I need to
replace to get my car running right with the sti
motor . will it be any different to do a wrx or a sti?
would the wrx be easier?

oh lawd.. this is one of those times you need to search on the forum and just pull up EVERY single thread you come across and look for info that is specific to what you're doing. You might also copy and paste this into a wrx/sti forum for help. Wish I had a better answer but I'm not informed with said swap. Hope you find the info fast and it's easier than expected ;)

I wouldn't do it on a '93-'01 Imp, as the suspension and body rigidity aren't up to the same snuff as the succeeding '02-'06 body. These first Imps can only handle the mediocre 2.2i NA.
