2005 Cafillac SRX tires
Asked by DavidGordon Aug 07, 2016 at 01:21 PM about the 2005 Cadillac SRX V8 AWD
Question type: General
My 05 SRX has different front and rear tire sizes (front 235
60 18) (rear 255 55 18) The local tire store said it's
possible to use 245 60 18 all around. Will these work
without rubbing? Also, would different tire size affect the
actual speed on the speedometer?

Front should be 235/65/17 and rear should be 255/60/17. If this is an AWD vehicle do not use tire sizes other than the vehicle came with or you risk damage and excessive wear to the AWD system which will be expensive to repair....http://www.tirerack.com/tires/SelectTireSize.jsp? autoMake=Cadillac&autoModel=SRX+AWD+V6&autoYear=2005& autoModClar=Base+Model
Also depending on which model your Cadillac is could have 18" wheels. Run the tire sizes listed on the sticker on the driver's door post.
if you look up the diameter on the tires in question you find that the diameter is as follows: 255/60/18 94.3 235/65/18 94.3 " 245/60/18 is 92.9" You can put a single size tire all the way around as the tires have the same outside radius with no effect on the speedometer and you could also rotate to green out tire wear. The suggested tires are 1.4" smaller which will cause speed and odometer to be a little fast. I would put either the original sizes on all the way around. if you drive in snow a lot use the 235 I refered to the tire size calculator at https://tiresize.com/calculator/
