oil light comes on in every car when you first turn the ignition on after you start it the light should go out right away. If not make sure that your oil is full
If it is full your oil light sensor may be getting bad. Does the motor tick?
yeah, when the light is on,you have no oil to feed everything moving.in the engine that is,if its slow to go out the feed is slow for reason of too heavy, too much dirt in oil, almost plugged filter, one of above*more likely!other factors can be,pickup screen almost plugged, worn pump, falty sender, leaking sender, filter checkvalve failed, oil very low, incorrect dipstick, pcm acting erratic.
Oil pressure is low or sender is registering it as low. As noted above, there are many possibles. Does the engine have high mileage? Worn rings will do it. If oil is at proper level, and no other issues present, try a heavier (thicker) oil or an additive.

Sebrings have a bit of a low oil pan inspect pan for being hit,if the pans been hit it will bend the pick up tube above oil causing cavitation (airbubbles) making light flicker at idle, check the level, remember if pan is dented stick reading will be off by as much as a quart + if pan is not damaged it may be a pennzoil baby and have sediment in pan blocking oil pick-up tube, till you determine which I do not advise driving it as engine destruction will soon follow.

Happened to me, the oil light coming on while driving , mechanics said engine cleaning, but oil was leaking, i needed a new oil pan or something low cost. The oil Light doesnt come on now. But it will yours may end up staying on so check it out good luck!
