Has anyone had their toyota camry solaras convertable suddenly excellerate for no reason? This has happened to me 2 times recently. I was driving 25-30 miles per hour and car started to excellerate.

I was not able to stop the car by putting on the brake.  The only way to stop
the car was by throwing it into nuetral and turning off ignition which was hard
to do but I was able to do this without having an accident.  But luckily there
was not a lot of traffic and it was a country road where I could pull over off the
road.  When i tried to restart the car it was still excellerating.

It happened to my GS once. Cleaned the whole throttle body, throttle plate (back and front) using throttle cleaner, clean shop rug and toothbrush. On the throttle shaft use smalll amount of household oil and cotton swab to lubricate it to keep the throttle blade rotating smoothly. One drop should be fine. Do not over do. Did I solved the problem? I don't know but all I know that scary moment never happened again.
