It Can be one of many problems. It is 2.8 Turbo ? Check first computer codes ! How many miles and when you changed Transmission fluid last time ??

Thermostat stuck change it..causes the overheating light at start up...change the head gasket if you drove it overheated! have a Decent service center use a hand held GAS analyzer to check the coolant for combustion by products. C02. Regards
