Loud "clank" noise upon initial accelleration or putting in reverse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2012 Cadillac SRX Performance. The problem has been going on for
about 3 weeks now. A semi loud "clank" sound that sounds like it's coming from
the undercarriage area when I reverse or initially accelerate. It has 55,600 miles
on it and has also had on time regular oil changes. Any thoughts?

So this has the AWD differential right? My thoughts are that the link at the driveshaft is worn. Sometimes there is a round rubber"guido" bushing that can wear out on the connection point of the driveshaft to the drive unit. If the link to the drive unit is worn there would be slop in the connection. Hopefully it's not an internal drive problem, only way to know if to have a look underneath. If your not going to do the work yourself get a couple of estimates. Good Luck!
Did you find solution?
I had the same issue. There was a TSB released that explained how to repair this. You'll need to bring it to a dealership. This is what the dealership wrote when they fixed mine: "CUSTOMER STATES CLUNK/POP NOISE FROM FRONT END WORSE ON ACCEL OR SLOWING TO STOP INSTALL AXLE SHAFT WASHERS AND RE-TORQUE AXLE NUTS AS OUTLINED BY CADILLAC TECH SERVICE BULLETIN #09-04-95-0lD"
