How do I turn AWD back on in my 2012 SRX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Put car into manual mode while driving up very slippery driveway when the AWD Off light
came on. It is no longer on but I'm not sure the AWD is functioning either

I am not positive, but I think once you put the SRX back into normal drive mode and not manual that the AWD automatically engages. Give your dealer a call to verify.

Yes, anytime you go from manual drive back to automatic it will go back into AWD.

Same thing happened to me. Did yours go back on? I left mine sitting in a neighbors driveway. Seems like a real irritating “feature”

I have kind of the opposite situation with my 2013 SRX. Can I turn off (and leave off) my AWD until I need it in inclement weather? I feel like it really drags down the acceleration and the MPG so I'd prefer to just have 2WD until I need more. Is the manual shifting the only option to turn it off? And I know the Eco Mode should improve my MPG, but any other suggestions? Thanks!
