Radiator fans running loudly

Asked by Paul Oct 20, 2017 at 08:28 AM about the 2012 Ford Escape XLT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have searched around multiple forums and such and I
can’t find an exact answer.

I have a 2012 Ford Escape.  The other day the radiator
fans started running constantly on what seems to be the
high setting.  They are only running while the car is on.

Also the other day I pulled into a gas station and as I got
out of the car.... I can only describe it as my car thinking it
was a locomotive.  I came to a stop and I noticed a  loud
“pressure release” sound and a jet of something that
came out from under the driver side.  I’m thinking that
pressure release my be something to do with the A/C
because it hasn’t worked since then but I am at a loss
over the fans running at high speed.

I think you need to service the cooling system as it may be overheating. The fans only run at one speed but if they run all the time it is because the engine is hot. What does the temperature gauge show?
