Check engine light staying on

Asked by Guru9X6HK7 May 26, 2021 at 03:35 PM about the 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay so I have a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 and and a while
ago my check engine light came on I want to put it on the
light at O'Reilly's and it shows that there was a mass air
flow sensor out so I purchased the mass air flow sensor
and the next day check engine light came back on and my
car was jerking like it wanted to go dead so I went
changed out again and now it's doing the same thing I
don't know what's wrong with you I'm having problems in
the lights flicker on and is constantly saying that they're
closing so with that being said I replaced several times
and that's not it so somebody please help me help me

A mass air flow sensor code doesn't always mean the sensor is faulty, just that it is detecting a problem. You can have a hole or crack in one of the hoses, aka a vacuum leak, maybe even a misfire. Scan the car again and post the 4 digit trouble code or codes back here.

Most likely it's the wiring going to the mass airflow sensor but the codes will help us know what's going on. Eighteen year old Scooter at the local auto parts store will know how to pull the codes but that's about it! Hope that helps! Jim
