yes, but its probably cheaper to get a rebuilt one................unless you know how to work on them
No you can't. CVT's need to be replaced but in your case you may be able to get a new one under extended warranty from Nissan. Talk to your Nissan dealer.
Yes you can. You can find the part that you need to replace on eBay. Thee official transmission maker do not provide replacement parts so ebay is your only option. but since you're going to be taking out for the transmission in order to replace the parts, you should just buy a used transmission and replace it. A lot less of a headache.

no not normally can b rebuilt, they are chain driven and most transmission guy will not rebuild. the prices at the dealers are the best price because they sale so many of them or a junkyard
You can try but odds are it will fail sooner rather than later.
Depends on the transmission, usually early failure is due to overheating of the fluid, if you get it fixed install an external cooler, and use the correct fluid and correct level, the common failure is the steel belt breaking, or the fluid could get hot and the vehicle go into safe mode, you could also experience a bad pressure sensor. Those transmissions are not hard to fix if you are mechanically inclined, however out side of a sensor or belt failure getting the parts would be challenging.

Transmissions should be repairable by local shops. It shouldn't take $1700 labor to take one out and put it back, and a rebuild one is $3000. Shame on Nissan. I have bought by last Nissan.

I have a question regarding a 2017 Nissan Altima S, is it possible to replace the transmission without to many complications, my concern is that I have all the necessary tools and parts. I keep hearing some parts aren’t available to the public.
Yes, you absolutely can. DO NOT listen to the FOOL that says you cannot. If you visit RockAuto there are even full rebuild kits for this transmission. It is very difficult and VERY few people posses the skills to do it. DO NOT be LIED to by anyone saying it is not possible. They DON'T know what they're talking about. There are even YouTube videos of people who have done it.
