On fuel injected cars, the fuel system is pressurized- I advise against doing this operation unless you are a good mechanic- why? because modern gasoline has benzene it it, and a zillion other chemicals to boot- if you ingest benzene, or get it in your eyes or even get it on your skin, the chemical penetrates the tissues, goes straight into your bone marrow, and is highly carcinogenic- I haven't done a fuel filter yet, on a modern car, where I haven't gotten gasoline on my skin, sometimes in my eyes- yikes- I just don't do them anymore
