2000daewoo lanos hot air will not change from front panel to windshield defrost or floor

this car will not change from front panel to winshield or floor, any ideas what could be wrong with it before I start spending money on parts I may not need. any ideas will be apreciated thank you

check the cable has not come loose at heater directioon control on both sides of cable. this is a known problem with the lanos
