Sunroof mesh air deflector

Asked by Alexmalibu Apr 30, 2020 at 08:02 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my factory mesh air
deflector is broken.
I already bought a new one
and removed the broken
old one, which was easy
because it was already
broken.
The problem I'm having
now is....installing the new
one.
How??
Does it install from the
outside top, or do I have to
remove the whole sunroof
unit??
I am stumped as to how to
do this without bending or
breaking something.
Thanks for any info!

YouTube has many do it yourself videos that should definitely help. If you can't find anything let me know.

The only youtube videos in finding is for after market air deflectors. Any link you may know of would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's all I'm finding too. I've never messed with sunroofs or owned a car with one since most end up leaking. But, if your local Chevy dealer has nice parts guys, you may get your answer from them. I've asked several of our dealers parts people about things and have had good luck.
