Why doesn't the engine start?

When the key is turned, all the dashboard lights flash and there is a chirping
noise. The engine does not crank or start.

Check battery voltage, it should be between 12.8 and 13.2 volts. If voltage is good then you have a security issue,possible key chip or the system needs a total reset. If it needs a reset only the deal;er can do it. The only other option might be a good locksmith.

I looked on YuTube and got an answer. The flashing dashboard and rapid chirping(clicking) noises mean a weak battery or bad connector terminals. I replaced the battery and it now starts.
