Car died while driving and engine hot and smoking!
I came across this site looking for answers
for my 06 Dodge Charger RT 5.7L...i am
currently sitting on the side of the road in
Baytown,TX because my car shut off while i
was sitting at the light and smoke started
coming from the hood. When i lifted it up the
engine was smoking bad from the sides of
the engine. After a few minutes i released
the radiator cap and it was smoking bad. I
let it sit there and a guy came and added
water to the tank and it started bubbling
really bad and all of a sudden it started
shooting out water i think the color went
from a brownish red and then almost a black
color. I don't know exactly what's going on i
keep getting different answers from guys
who stop and try to help me but i need to
know from someone who has had this
problem or dealt with it. It still doesn't want
to start but it turns over like it wants to and
its been about an hour. Someone please
give me some advice here. I am a 41 yr old
female who don't want to be screwed over
by the shops. Having knowledge before
would help me know. Thank you to anyone

When your Charger stalled out, did you try to restart it? If so, did it crank over and try to start or just do nothing? Did you notice any lights come on the dash before it stalled out?
Now that it has cooled off i added more water to the radiator and water was coming out of 2 pin holes from the back of the engine on a medal pipe attached. What would cause that?
I did try and start it again and it did not even try to turn over it just clicked. Smoke was immediately coming from the hood. My temperature gage never even left the half way mark.
It's possible that the car overheated and seized the motor. What caused the overheating could be many different issues, it's hard to say exactly what though. Then after sitting for an hour, it cooled down enough to free up and try to start again. It really needs to get to a shop to see what caused the initial issue.
