whats the problem ?

Asked by Rebecca Jan 10, 2015 at 04:06 PM about the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car starts fine. When you press the gas it sputters and the rpm go high. You have to
start off very slow. If you start off fast the epc light shows up. The yellow engine light stays
on. I 'am in the middle of labrador no one fixes vw's here.

EPC is Electronic Power Control. aka Drive-by-wire, when you push the pedal it uses an electronic signal and electric motor to operate throttle body. Not a DIY fix. (I have been to Newfoundland and loved the place) but I can understand that there isn't a lot of shops there that can work on these, besides dealers
