2012 Town and Country positive cable hot

Asked by David Jun 28, 2020 at 08:27 PM about the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Positive wire that attaches to the battery terminal is
melted and extremely hot. Battery lights comes on
randomly and at one point the car shut off while
driving. The other day we turned off the car and the
fuel pump was still on. Had to disconnect the
battery for it to turn off.

I think you have a serious electrical short. I would also check your grounds.

Have you had the battery replaced? Or the battery terminals replaced.

Also have someone check the alternator. The alternator could be grounding out.
