On my dashboard, it says "back" with a little arrow that points to the left. What does this mean?

Maybe you have a rear light light out, or a rear door isnt shut al the way. It would proble say for shure in the owners manual.

ok so there is also a button on the steering wheel that says "back' and when I push it, it changes the screen where is said "back" and lets you scroll through it to change the settings (like the trip miles, miles until you need gas etc) so I think it was just in the middle of a menu and was giving me the option to go back. :) Thanks for all the suggestions

Yes, exactly right, capreva. The back button allows you to move "back" to the menu allowing you to scroll up and down to view the choices available to you. Water temp. oil pres., oil temp., trans. temp., miles per hour, tire pres., ect. And just know that any choice you make only applies to the display located between the gauges and has NO effect on vehicle operation at all. So don't be afraid. Experiment with it. Get familiar with it.

What that "back" means is that on your steering wheel left side if you push the arrow key 'back' you can change to different formats &/or other fields if you want. The first time I saw that I thought it meant my gate was left open but then quickly recognized it wasn't going off no matter how many I opened & shut it. Lol! Good luck hope this helps.
