Engine replacement on a 2004 Ford Escape XLT

Asked by KansasQuestion Sep 08, 2019 at 05:52 PM about the 2004 Ford Escape XLT FWD

Question type: General

I own a 2004 Ford Escape XLT with 165,000 miles on it. A bolt has rusted off in
the block and the stud may be loose in the block.
The body is in pretty good shape but the interior is pretty rough.
Is it worth it to replace the motor?

Only you can decide if you want to put money into it. If the interior is rough and you need a new engine, it is only worth scrap value. Do you want to drive it a few more years? Replacing the engine, you will never recoup that money.
