I purchased my 2009 Audi A6 Turbo Avant in October, 2009. I currently have 40,000 miles on the car and have had to 1 quart of oil to the car at least 4-5 times since I owned the car. Is this normal?

VW and Audi recognize that engines will use a certain amount of oil they do not consider it excessive until it gets to be a quart every 800 miles or less. They have some very strange ways of measuring for oil usage .
no this not normal..... athough they do burn oil... it is not normal
i have an a4 turbo, i change oil every 5000 miles, and to be honest it doesnt ever use any. What oil are you using?
I have a 2009 Audi A6 3.0T which used no oil until about 60K miles. Now I have to add a quart of synthetic about every 1K miles. There is no leak and nothing unusual about the exhaust. We have had 8 AUdis and this is the first time any have used oil - I sold the last one with 200+K miles and it did not use oil. Any thoughts?
