'05 Dodge Caravan 2.4L Engine Swap/Upgrade

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey all, this is my first post here. Everyone I've talked to around the job
hasn't the slightest clue on where to begin with the upgrade, so I went out
searching for a forum to post to. This seemed like a good candidate.

Anyways, I recently blew a piston in my 2.4L SOHC 4cyl, and I am currently
looking for a replacement. My budget is enough to allow for a crate 2.4L
SOHC exact replacement, but I would like something with a little more
power now that I need a replacement anyways. I have thought about
various upgrades and even EV conversions, but don't know where to start
other than raw part pricing. Jokingly, a few of the guys at work suggested
the 2.4L DOHC from a Neon SRT4. The rebuilt engines I've looked at puts
it under my budget, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

Has anyone done a similar swap on an '05 Caravan? Or can anyone point
me in the right direction?

I will be calling around to the custom shops in my area this coming Monday,
as this is my daily driver and I need it running one way or another ASAP.

Thank you for your time!

What else is required for a 2.4l 4cyl to 3.3l 6cyl upgrade? A new ECU to drive the new engine, what about mounting and transmission bolting?
