2nd row bench compatible with 2005 Dodge Caravan
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan with a 2-passenger 2nd row bench; the floor has grooves
for a 3-passenger bench. All the 3-seat benches ones I've seen for the Dodge
Caravan, though, are a single back. I'd like instead to get the kind where the middle
folds down separately.
Is it possible, then, to get such a seat assembly for a different make or model, and
have it fit my car? If so, what other makes/models can I look at?
Ok stay with me here. The 3 person rear seat will fit in the 2nd row. You can buy another seat for the rear to have seating for 8. The drawback is trying to get into the 3rd row with the 3 seat wide bench in the 2nd row. Not enough room to squeeze by the 2nd row bench. They do make bucket seats that will fit in place of the 2nd row bench. The vans that will fit your Caravan will be a Chrysler town and country and Plymouth/Chrysler Voyager.

What you said about getting into the 3rd row is exactly the problem I'm trying to address - to get seating for 8 while still being able to get in and out of the back relatively easily. It's good to know they make bucket seats - thanks - but what I really am looking for is a bench where the middle folds down. But thanks also for the pointers to the other makes/models; I'll see what there is for those.
They don't make a bench for the middle row that does that. Most mini vans are just 7 passenger. Your welcome for the help.
The answer from TransAm77 is not completely exact. In fact, depending on the model year, various seats were available and were interchangeable 2nd and 3rd row for the most part. The ideal is to get the optional 50/50 3rd row bench from a scrap yard and put it in the 2nd row. It comes with the seat belt, allows access to the 3rd row by folding one of the halves and effectively turn the Caravan into an 8 passenger.
bigmac41239 your exactly right. I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan and i went to pick n pull and took out a THIRD row seat and put it in the place of my SECOND ROW seat and it works perfectly. It folds down and lets back up. Very convenient for the whole family.
Hey guys!!! So my 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan has 303000 miles on it and finally gave up the ghost....but I LOVE my second row bench and HATE Captains seats. Am having an impossible time finding a used Grand Caravan with the bench. Any tips on learning what model year to search for? Or what newer model year could interchange my current second row bench in place of captain seats?
My question: Can I replace my driver's seat with one of the captain's seats in the 2nd row? They are nearly "perfect" but my drivers seat is worn down. This is a 2003 T & C Ltd so I don't mind not having the backseat, and guess the 3rd row bench that I have never used could be placed there, tho almost never have more than 3 people in the van, 99% just me and my wife.

I have a 2005 caravan with 2nd row captain seats. There is no stow and go for whatever reason, even though apparently I heard every caravan after 2004 has them. Anyway, these seats just sit there and don't move whatsoever. They are horrible and I cannot even see a way that any passengers could use them as there is no room there for anything at all, let alone a person or people. I need to throw these captain chairs in the river and replace them with a 2 person 2nd row bench, however, I am assuming this cannot be done as this car is already some sort of anomoly.
