Van has been sitting in driveway 8 years and runs. What repairs/maintenance are needed?

I'm purchasing a van that has been sitting in a driveway for about 8 years. The engine has been started every few months over that time but it has not been driven. It started right up and sounded smooth when I looked at it, A mechanic is recommending changing all fluids, hoses, and the brake system at a cost of about $1,000. Does this seem reasonable?

The stuff I'd recommend would cost well more than that. I'd recommend doing all that plus filters, tires, and plugs and wires
