Asked by Eric Mar 14, 2019 at 09:16 AM about the 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan C/V Cargo FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Van starts shaking smells like burning brakes -
took it in replaced front brakes and rotors and rear
brakes and calipers - two weeks later same thing
except this time left front tire caught on fire I am at
a loss here can anyone help

You didn't mention that the front calipers were replaced, so that's most likely where the problem is. I had a 2006 GC that did just that, although I never had a fire, just a lot of smoke. Chances are the front calipers are not retracting properly.
