2002 jetta 1.8 turbo will not shut off

I replaced the ignition switch and fuel pump relay with no effect. After replacing the fan control module, everything worked fine for about three days. now it's back to its old tricks again. I'm going to take a close look at the fan control module again, but I am interested to know if anyone else has encountered this issue.  And , if so, what was the remedy?
