Why won't car start after sitting. Radio comes on; lights on, but won't start? Do I need a jump?

Why won't car start after sitting 5 hours. What is wrong?

Do you have good battery? At least 12v. Automatic or standard transmission?

does the motor turn over when you try to start? Why do you wait 5 min? If it turns over ( tries to start) Is it a slow drag or rapid turning over.

Listen for a noise (humming) - fuel pump. When it sits the fuel sys looses its prime and it has to have a prime.
