Durango starts then dies

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today when I went to start my 2005 Dodge Durango 5.7L it would start and then
shut off. It would not start again and would just turn over and over but if I
turned it all the way off it would start then die. Then it stopped even turning
over. I could hear the rear fuel pump priming so I believe it is working. What
could be the problem?

I figured it out, it was a key/security issue. My keys dropped and the contact that holds the battery became unsoldered losing contact to the computer board. I took it apart because I was locked out and attempted to use my pocket knife to jump the broken contact which worked at unlocking the vehicle. When I got back in the car I didn't put the key back together which is why it wouldn't start. The computer board must be near the ignition or it won't work. It will temperararilly start a few times before locking the starter out completely disabling the vehicle. I thought my fuel pump went out and then my starter. Thank God it wasn't because I'm poor.
