What is wrong with my A/C system?

Asked by Payton May 18, 2020 at 11:50 AM about the 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The low pressure is in the good range, the heater
works, air blows through the vents great. All the
fuses and relays are working. The compressed
spins and stops at regular intervals when AC is on.
The air through the vents is room temp when set to
it’s lowest setting. There is a strange hissing sound
coming from the rear of the vehicle and when I
unplug the rear blower it goes off. But the air still
won’t get cold.

If the compressor seems OK, I think you are probably low on refrigerant. Double check the pressure reading you are seeing.
