Question type: Maintenance & Repair
the windows are not working. i pulled the door boot and found only a small
green broken wire, all others (black one and the blue with black lines) appear
good. small green repair did not fix the window problem. Is there a way to
test the control switch or that I am getting power to it?

Yes, there is a way to test the switch. You have 4 switches controlling four doors, right? Simply hook a switch that you KNOW does work to the wire coming from the switch that you suspect is NOT working.
Thanks Gary, none of the switches work so i cant test this way. Any other suggestions?
Since all of the switches, both at the driver's door and at each individual door don't work, then it sounds like the individual switches aren't the problem. Have you checked the master switch at the driver's door for power?
OH, forgot to mention this: you asked about testing power TO the master switch. You can buy a tester at places like Auto Zone or Advance Auto. Trying to check wiring without the right equipment is a royal pain. Splurge and make the job easier.
thanks. I got a tester, what points do i connect to in order to test?
First, check the fuse box. I believe there's one under the dash and one under the hood. Sounds like the fuse is blown.
Second, take a look at this youtube video. It might help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUurehC8Lag
Gary, thanks again. I checked the fuse and circuit breaker and they are both good. I already removed the rubber boot and found all wires except one to be good. One thin green wire was broken whcih i repaired, but it did not fix the windows.
