towing capacity of 2008 chevy express van 2500 4.8 liter

I am having problems towing a travel trailer weight 3500 lbs.  Drags up hill.  We wanted to know what we can do to increase the towing capacity

Well, your vehicle has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. See this link belowhttp://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/express- cargo/2008/st-100946197/features-specs/ , so what are you loading in the van? Are you sure that you don't have transmission issues?

Yes, please answer Mark and let us know exactly what problems you are having and if you have an automatic be SURE to drop it out of Overdrive, or drop a gear and let your engine do some work. Lugging is one of the worst things you can do to an engine

the 4.8 can not tow 10,000 lbs. The 6.0 v8 would be a better choice for towing.
