2005 dodge neon cranks but does not start. Replaced tons of sensors...

Asked by Sean Nov 18, 2016 at 09:23 AM about the 2005 Dodge Neon SE Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the MAP, IAC, PVC, Camshaft position
sensor,  crank position sensor,  fuel filter, spark
plugs etc.... still nothing. It cranks and cranks and
will only start when I apply the gas pedal. It'll start
for 1 second then for again. Help!

You probably have a fuel delivery problem. Instead of the shot gun approach of replacing things at random you need to narrow it down, Check to see if you are getting spark at the plugs. Check for fuel delivery. See if you can hear the fuel pump running and check the fuel filter. Try putting a small amount of fuel into the intake, if it starts and runs for a second or two then you have narrowed it down to the fuel system.
