I have a Jeep Cherokee 2002/3 3.7 V6 with overheating problem. I have changed the following: water pump, clutch fan, radiator and thermostat. running on pure coolant and it still overheat. It runs well for about 500km and then start to go in the red. please can someone help?

have you checked or replaced the coolant temp sensor? should be connected to the thermostat housing. do you have pressure in the hoses? are you sure the engine had antifreeze? i have overheated and emptied my engine of all the antifreeze , after i filled the radiator and reserve you need to make sure the level goes down and enters the engine, if the hoses get warn or hot this would indicate proper flow, and the hoses should have some pressure buildup as well. hope that helps.

Pure coolant is an issue, drain some and add water, to correct mix ratio. Or buy premixed water and coolant.

What if upper rad hose is hot to the touch, but bottom hose is semi-cool on 05' 4.7 grand cherokee limited?
