2005 Dodge Neon Trany goes into neutral mode
My neon over the last few yrs had gone into this all neutral mode when it got really cold outside. I mean as you started to take off, it would slip out of gear and would not move. Wait half min and she would start to move. OK its winter I have other cars to drive in the winter, who cares. I park it once it gets to snow weather anyways. Last winter it started doing it in not as cold weather. What once was in the 20s now was in the 30s doing the same thing. OK so I park it a few weeks early. Now this summer as I went on long drive, 1200 miles almost non stop, it started to do it now when its hot out too. Wait a half min, put it back in gear, and get going. Once it gets going about 2 blocks and has shifted into all the gears it never gives a prob again while its warm.
Was told yrs ago by a transmission place that there is some kind of sensor inside the tranny that could be causing this problem. Anyone know about this?
