For people with 340,344 eng code problems: Mine only happens in cold, wet weather and is fine all summer. The problem is a bad connection, but I can't figure where. Any Help?

if its a gen 2, the p code for 340 is CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT, and 344 is CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INTERMITTENT. thats all i could find a gen 1 doesn't seem to have the 344 code
You probably have a bad connector on the Cam Sensor. Purchase a new one and it comes with a new connector. Apparently there's been an issue with that particular connector. The part is inexpensive at Advance and O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Thanks for the replies! It's a gen 2, and I have replaced the cam sensor and connector and thought it was fixed. Spring came and the weather warmed up and the car ran fine, up until the weather started dipping down to the 30's. Then the problems resurfaced: Check engine light, rev limited to 2100(I say that because it kind of acts the same as the park/neutral rev limiter), and sometimes extended crank to start(but not every time). On a side note, It almost acts as if its a "limp" mode of sorts. With only those codes(016,340,344), The car will start after 10 seconds of cranking. By the way, Mileage is 69k. I am going to go thru the entire circuit and check each connection, when the problem comes again, Unless someone has a shortcut. Thanks again...
ok so i don't know what to tell you but the p016 is CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT TIMING MISALIGNMENT. if that helps you any.
