my 2012 jeep liberty rear hatch does not open. Is there an emergency button to unlock?

It won't open with the key remote or by lifting the handle.

I'm having the same issue with mine as well.. I have had other sporadic issues with locks throughout the car. they just had to replace the motor for the locking mechanism in my drivers door because i could only lock my door by manual pushing down the lock and unlocking it by using the key.

seems i cant find a good answer to for my 2010 jeep liberty lift gate. latch working but not releasing the lift door in the rear. It doesn't have a handle and only functions with the key fob. why do i keep getting the run around with every other vehicle and can't get a good answer or suggestions'
