Is it completely correlated with speed? Front or rear...or somewhat below you? You'll hope it's a wheel bearing.... If the sound is more whiney and changes pitch even as you decelerate it's apt to be a worn-out CVT (ouch!). A decent wrench with a stethoscope can differentitate while walking around under the car. Good luck. 2012 Imps had a LOT of teething problems, and many will lose their CVTs before they age out. Sorry. (Disclaimer: I service and sell 2016- 2019 OBs/Legs in Boston)
You bought a big repair bill by buying a high mile Subie.

Sadly there aren’t a lot of used cars out there right now and I’m 68 looking for transportation during Chicago winters. Beggars can’t be choosers.

My daughter(s) rotated between an OB and a Mazda3 through their 5 Chicago winters with nary a problem. FLAT geography was the determining factor for safety and utility with only a nice FWD vehicle in winter. Good luck with your somewhat-fragile Imp.
