temp. gauge does up and down..

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As i start driving with my AC on within 5mins. my temp starts to shoot up
then withing a minute or two itll level out. then it would shoot back up and my
AC would stop blowing cold air. at this point i turn off the AC and the temp
would go back to mid level. then it will shoot up again.

sometimes itll do this and then itll stay the mid level and stay there.

i just had the lower and upper thermostat changes and a new radiator cap.

the problem persist.


whats wrong with my car.

Is your check engine light or service engine soon light on? If so, look for a knock sensor trouble code. A bad knock sensor can severely retard the ignition timing. This will cause the engine to run hot, and experience loss of power. Hope that helps! Jim

I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra i change my radiator i change my thermostat new water bottle and my temperature guage goes from cold to hot
