Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 dodge dakota 4wd manual trans., Sometimes it starts right away. Other times I have to leave the key turned in the ignition for a minute before it starts. While the key is turned nothing happens besides the lights and music. I hear nothing from the engine. was told the ignition switch could be going bad.
