Is the 2004 Honda Accord EX sedan v6 worth it

Asked by Anonymous2015 Nov 08, 2015 at 07:16 PM about the 2004 Honda Accord EX with Leather

Question type: General

I know someone who is selling their 2004 honda accord Ex sedan for
almost $4000. The mileage is around 140k. Personally, I think that it's too
high of a price since the mileage is way above 100k and I would have to
pay for all four tire replacements, and other things. Anyways, I read
multiple reviews that the transmission failed once the mileage was above
100k. Since the car is at 140k miles, I checked if their were any recalls with
the VIN number because their were hundreds of transmission failure
complaints and it said zero. I'm just worried if I buy this car the transmission
will fail at any moment. Is a ticking bomb really what I want for my first car?
Plus, since this is gonna be my first car I am concerned about what I'm
investing my money into. Thank you for your comment.

CarGurus places a Fair Market Value of a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 - 4-door sedan- with 148,409 miles at $7,563 (which surprises me) It's entirely unpredictable to predict if the transmission will go another 100,000 or another 100. Honda does not release production numbers, but there were a lot, so hundreds are going to fail. Pull the dipstick and if the fluid is a nice red/pink and has no burnt odor it may well be good for a while. No promises.

if they took good care of the car it is worth it. my Honda 2004 EX V6 has always been maintained and never had any problems. it has only 70,000 miles on it. if I were to sell it I would sell for $6,000......
