They say use honda fluid only or it can cause harm , this may be the case ., the tranny may have been worked on before and a detail was missed , if the fluid is brown and burnt smelling then change it out . Pay attention to anything that drops out along with the pan if you decide to do the filter and fluid .

update- made an appointment to change the fluid, was going to change the inline transmission filter, but the dealer said there isnt one on the V6 3L. Test drove today to see what was happening (is my daughters car) Code reader threw a code today . PO746 Pressure control solenoid A performance or stuck off PO722 output shaft speed sensor Circuit no signal cancelled the fluid change, going to change the sensor tomorrow. symptoms today, slipping out of first gear, not moving.... hopefully this is the solution

update - changed Pressure control solenoid A testdrive slipping out of gear, when highway tested 3 4 gear, refusal to go into gear from stop. New error codes PO721 output shaft speed sensor Circuit range PO777 Pressure control solenoid B stuck on not sure I want to spend any more money on this beast???? what do you think the chance is of it working if I change solenoid B?
