not starting

I changed my steering column in my 2004 Ford
explorer I lost my key so I put and junk yard one
in and it will not turn over or start so do I have to
change the computer. in it form the one I got the
steering column. out of

If your key has a chip in it, as my 2003 does, I would suspect the only key which is going to work is the key that came with the junk yard column.
