Complete electrical failure when starting van

Asked by Keith Nov 13, 2020 at 03:20 AM about the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, with approximately 154,000 miles on it. I
went to start it this morning, it unlocked from the FOB ok, all the lights came on
nice and bright, I inserted the key, and turned her over and the entire thing went
completely dead. All the lights went out, the key is stuck in the ignition, and I
can't get her to crank, at all, not even lock the doors. What is wrong?

1 Answer

GA, thank you. It happened to be a bad positive terminal. I replaced the terminal, and all is well. I will be replacing the ground soon, to cover behind.
